Read below to find some helpful tips for this coming daylight savings!
Many people find it helpful to change their clocks the night before daylight savings actually occurs. This eliminates the opportunity of forgetting about the time change and starting the day off on the wrong foot!
Four helpful tips for loosing an hour of sleep!
1. Experts suggest setting your clock one hour ahead far before going to bed Saturday night. It is good to get ahead and chances are the first thing on your mind at 2 am on Sunday morning will not be a reminder to set your clock one hour ahead.
2. It is also suggested that every time you change your clock for day light savings, you should also be replacing the batteries in the good ol' smoke detectors and other warning devices! This is a great way to make sure your home is a safe environment.
3. Focusing in on your sleep schedule is an important part of cutting down on the amount of time you wake up groggy from the time change. It is recommended to set a goal of getting approximately seven hours of sleep a night to set your accurate bedtime and avoid the morning groggy feeling.
4. Avoid eating or drinking two to three hours before planning on going to bed. Having these in your system actually disrupts your sleep because the digestion process wakes up your body. It is recommended to limit caffeine to early mornings and alcohol consumption to early evenings in attempt to not disrupt your sleep schedule.
